What I Got for Free in February and How You Can Get Free Stuff too

February was not as productive for me in terms as freebies as most other months because my husband and I were away for part of the month. We went to an annual conference that is held in Las Vegas for my husband’s business. Some of the freebies I got were from attending the conference and that is always fun to get freebies while traveling.

A Free Donut from Dunkin Donuts

The first item I will share with you is my trusty free donut from Dunkin Donuts. I share at least one free donut picture with you every month because, well, honestly, I LOVE Dunkin Donuts. I love the coffee as well as the donuts. I usually get one free donut each week when I go thrift store shopping for eBay, or bargain shopping at grocery stores with coupons.

I found a Dunkin Donuts near the Golden Nugget hotel we stayed at in downtown Las Vegas. Fortunately, it was a five-minute walk from the hotel, so you can probably guess I went there a few times during our stay.

How Can You Get a Free Dunkin Donut?

If you are age 50 or over, join AARP for $16.00 a year and when you order a large or extra large coffee at Dunkin Donuts, and show them your AARP card, you will get 1 free donut.

Free Products from The Spa

We stayed at the Golden Nugget and each year the spouses that register for the conference are treated to a gift certificate to the spa. The gift certificate covers a variety of services including haircuts, blowouts, makeovers, a manicure, a pedicure, and new this year was a twenty-minute massage.

But being the practical person that I am, I never pay for services that I can do myself. That meant that the manicure, pedicure and blow out were out. I prefer to put on my own makeup, and although I don’t feel confident enough to cut my own hair, I prefer to stick with my hairdresser back home, so that only left the massage. I decided not to opt for the massage and get the free products instead so that I wouldn’t have to post a photo of me on a massage table to show all of you that I got a free massage! Ha, ha, no, that’s not really why I opted for the products over the massage, but the thought of having to post a photo like that did run through my head! I chose the products because I thought they would be of more value to me, and to use as prizes for the blog. So here is what I got:

I got the Lalicious Sugar Coconut Body Butter because I have recently discovered the absolutely amazing Coconut oil scented hair care treatment from Oliology. I decided that by using the Lalicious Sugar Coconut Hydrating Body Butter too, I will be able to layer the coconut scent and not even have to wear perfume because my skin and my hair will have the same scent. It is smooth and creamy and smells great.

By the way, if you like the scent of coconut, you will love the scent of these Oliology products too. I have found that using the shampoo and conditioner allows me one extra day between shampoos, but my very favorite of the Oliology products is the Curl Cream. My hair is wavy but just one quarter-sized amount of this rubbed through my damp hair gives me beautiful curls and I am hooked on it. I found them at TJ MAXX and Marshalls for better prices, but they are available below at Amazon. The prices of the shampoo and conditioner may look expensive to you, but they come in 32 oz. bottles, which is pretty big for shampoo and conditioner! The curl cream is in a smaller bottle, 7.8 oz, but is less expensive and is definitely my favorite.

How Can You Get Free Spa Services/Products?

So now that I wrote about that, it’s hard for me to teach you how to get free products from a spa the same way I did because this was a special gift certificate based on a conference I went to. But let’s call it “free swag”, and if you want to get free spa services or free items from spas, the best way I know how to do that is to sign up for any promotions your local spas are doing. If you already have a favorite spa, watch for any specials they are having. Sign up to get notified by email if your spa offers that. Specials are most popular during holidays. Make sure to search Groupon for any spa specials, and if you attend events that have promotional booths, make sure to stop by the spa booths because they often offer free promotional giveaways or drawing for gift certificates to their spa.

If you take vacations on cruise ships, most cruise ship spas have spa tours and drawings on the first day, so make sure you head to the spa on the first day to see what is going on. You may win a gift certificate for a free massage or other free services. And wouldn’t that be a great way to start your cruise?

Throughout a cruise, the spas always have specials where you can save money if you book on certain days. Port days are like a ghost town for cruise ship spas so there are always specials on the days where the ship is docked and most people are in port. Take advantage of them to save money. And if you want to go ashore also, book a spa service for early in the morning so you can have the rest of the day to explore the port. Or get off the ship as soon as possible in the morning, and book a spa appointment at the discounted rate in the afternoon so you can still have time to explore, but also save money on a spa service.

Free Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Cream

While in Las Vegas I discovered an Outlet Mall that had a special going on at the Crabtree & Evelyn store. My mom loves a certain scent of Crabtree and Evelyn lotion, and if I bought two of the trial sized lotions or hand creams, I would get a free mini hand cream for myself, which of course I did.

Everything seems better to me if I can save money on it, or get it for free. And so you know I am very much enjoying my free hand cream!

Free Chobani yogurt and Ragu spaghetti sauce from Kroger.

Freebies From Kroger

In February I only got two free items from Kroger. I got a new phone and had trouble downloading the Kroger app so missed some of the Freebie Friday items. I did get a 2 pack of Chobani yogurt and a jar of Ragu spaghetti sauce.

How Can You Get Freebies From Kroger?

If you have a Kroger near enough to you to shop at, make sure to download the app on your phone. Then every Friday, make sure to download the Friday Freebie. You then have two weeks to pick it up. Sometimes there are also other items at Kroger that you can get for free as well.

Free microfiber cleaning cloths from Harbor Freight.

Harbor Freight

In February at Harbor Freight I was able to get 1 package of microfiber cleaning cloths which my husband and I will keep in our glove compartments to wipe down the dashboards in our cars when they get dusty. There are coupons for free items at Harbor Freight every week in the Sunday paper, but you must use it when you purchase something else. In the interest of saving money, I try to combine the coupon only with items that I really need.

How Can You Get Freebies From Harbor Freight?

Buy the Sunday paper each week, or at least once a month. Inside you will find coupon fliers, some of which will have a flyer from Harbor Freight. Each flyer will have coupons for three items and you can only choose one to use. The free item range from mini flashlights to hats with headlamps. Just buy any item (I always go for the least expensive) and give them the coupon for what you want for free and it’s yours. You can use one coupon per day to get the free item.
