If you are new to my blog, each month I write a blog post about what I got for free the month before. Knowing that I am going to write about freebies each month helps keep me motivated to find lots of freebies that I can not only share with you but tell you how to get them also.
Below is the list of what I got for free in March 2018, with tips on how you may be able to get something free in the same way. Some of these offers have expired, but just keep your eyes and ears open for more freebie opportunities like these in the future.
Dunkin Donuts Coffee
This Dunkin Donuts trial pack of Cold Brew coffee was sent to me because I received an email asking me if I would like to be part of the Dunkin Donuts at-home Review Program. Since I absolutely LOVE Dunkin Donuts coffee, that was a no-brainer and I answered yes. Within a few weeks, I received this free package of Dunkin Donuts home brew coffee, tried and reviewed it. The reviewing of products sent is essential in order to stay on as part of the program.
How You Get Free Coffee?
Hmmm, well, honestly, I am not exactly sure why I was contacted for this program. Here’s what I can tell you that I do that is connected to Dunkin Donuts, and by doing these things, you may also be asked to join this program:
I am a member of the Dunkin Donuts Perks Program, and signed up last year before my birthday in order to get a) a free beverage for signing up, and b) a free beverage on my birthday.
I also promote Dunkin Donuts coffee at least weekly on my Instagram account because it is part of my weekly ritual of buying myself a treat at when I go grocery shopping and bargain shopping.
I honestly think being a member of the Dunkin Donuts Perks Program is why I was offered this opportunity, but if you love a product, it is ALWAYS a good thing to promote it on social media so that the company takes notice.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: I have written often on this blog about how you could get a free donut at Dunkin Donuts with your AARP card if you purchase a large or extra-large coffee. Unfortunately, AARP has discontinued this program, BUT Dunkin Donuts offers you a free donut on their receipt if you take a survey of how your visit was. Check your receipts to get your free donut!
BIC Razors
I get Bic Razors free quite often because I know where the best prices on Bic Razors are, and the coupon for these razors is often a $3.00 value. These Razors sell for $2.82 at Walmart and $2.89 at my local Dollar General. The coupon covers the cost of the razors at Dollar General, and if you have other items that you are purchasing in the same order, some Walmarts will take the full value of the coupon off your order. BUT stores are not obligated to do that, so it’s best not to argue with a cashier who says you can only get the product for free, and not the full value of the coupon off your order.
How Can You Get Free Razors?
Purchase the Sunday paper whenever there is a $3.00 coupon for Bic Razors. There may also be coupons for these razors online. If the coupon is $3.00, you can print the coupon and get these razors free at Dollar General or Walmart.
Whenever I see these coupons, I post it on my Instagram account, but I don’t write about it on this blog because that’s not enough information to write a whole blog post about.
To make sure you don’t miss the chance to get free Bic razors, or other coupon deals in the future, feel free to follow me on Instagram at Kouponkaren_thrifts_and_saves. I also post frequently about the thrift store deals I have found to sell on eBay on my Instagram account so some of you may be interested in following me for that reason.
CVS Deals
CVS has a wonderful rewards program called ExtraBucks. Each week there are special offers on certain products that will allow you to get a coupon for a certain amount of money back if you purchase that product. My favorite purchases are those that will give you back the full value of the money you spend on a product in the form of a coupon. Over the years I have gotten many products from CVS for free using the CVS ExtraBucks program. I have gotten make-up, toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, candy, mints, gum, hair elastics, medication, and much more, all for free. Here is an example of one of the things I got reimbursed for…including the Reeses Chocolate egg just before Easter, which is in the photo at the top of the post.
In March, I had gotten $7.00 worth of ExtraBucks for products I bought. Since we were going away on vacation, I decided to buy trial-sized items for the trip. I picked up some mouthwash and Kleenex, and as I was perusing the aisles, I was very surprised to see that CVS has a $1.00 section. Did you know CVS has a $1.00 section? That was news to me, and I was thrilled. (Okay, apparently it doesn’t take much to thrill me!) I put shoeboxes together for Operation Christmas Child every Fall, so was pleased to find packages of soap for $1.00 each and used my last $3.00 to purchase soap for that program. It ended up being free with the ExtraBucks and I was a happy camper!
How Can You Get Free Stuff at CVS?
Make sure to sign up for the CVS store card, and then watch the fliers each Sunday for items you can either get for free with a coupon for the same amount of money back or at least a nice refund on some of your money. Purchase the item, and after you purchase it, a coupon will come out of the register for the specified amount. You have one month to use it.
Kroger Deals
I used to shop at ShopRite when I lived in New England but alas, there aren’t any ShopRite grocery stores in Georgia. The next best thing seems to be Kroger because they offer freebies every Friday and other freebies through the Kroger app. Kroger also sends me coupons in the mail every other month or so, and there are always coupons for free items which is how I got the Ragu. I also got a package of Sargento cheese which isn’t in the picture…because we ate it before I could get a picture of it…oops!
You also earn gas points for your purchases at Kroger. With the price of gas these days, any little bit can help.
How Can You Get Free Stuff at Kroger or Other Grocery Stores?
Make sure to download the Kroger app and every Friday, download the Friday Freebie. This works at IGA also. In order to make this work, you also have to have a store card. And if your store doesn’t have an app, make sure to get a store card because that store card allows you to earn points sometimes for other items, like free turkeys during the holidays, or free coupons in the mail.
IGA Deals
By purchasing just my regular items from IGA over a three month period, I earned enough points to get two of these glass containers for free. They make great storage, and a nice gift to give someone filled with goodies.
How Can You Get Free Stuff at IGA?
Download the store app and hopefully, your purchases will be enough so that you can take advantage of these special offers.
Coupon Deals
This Oreo candy bar was from a coupon I won from a contest on Sweeties Sweepstakes website. If you enjoy entering contests, and you haven’t heard about the Sweeties Sweepstakes website, you are in for a treat. I plan to do a whole blog post on this website, but for now, I will just add a link and tell you it is a great way to win items and Sweetie (Wendy) works hard to list all of the contests from all over the country. The site is free to access, although she does have a paid program and for $30 a year you have unlimited access to contests just in your state.

A Free Mail Opener/Coupon Clipper
This is one of those items I got for free because I was paying attention. I was at our postal facility and there’s a shelf there with scissors, paper clips, etc. for people to use. There was also a basket with these freebies in it. They are perfect to keep in a coupon holder or in your car and open mail, and also help clip coupons.
How Can You Get Free Gadgets?
Pay attention to what’s around you wherever you are. Here are a couple other examples of what I mean:
- I was at the airport on a Sunday night and noticed someone had left behind a Sunday newspaper. I checked and scored four coupon fliers, for free, without having to buy the paper. I let the paper there for someone else to read.
- I was at an automobile parts store near Christmas and saw a basket with free lip balms that had the store logo on it. I don’t care what lip balm says on it, as long as it works! It became a stocking stuffer for my son.
To read more about how paying attention can get you free stuff and save you money, read this blog post I wrote a while back:
So now I have a question for you: What have you gotten for free lately? Please feel free to share it in the comment section, and don’t forget, to earn entries into this month’s blog drawing, use the social networking buttons below to share this post, and then leave a comment as to which sites you shared it on.
Thanks, and happy saving!
Love seeing what I can get free at CVS too!
I have gotten all kinds of food samples lately for either entering social media sweeps or agreeing to do surveys with various companies. I think food freebies are easier than most, because they are less expensive and the company wants to get you hooked on their product so you will buy more. I watch my page feed daily and enter every chance I get. I also thank the company and post a pic at least on my Instagram account.
It is so cool all the freebies you can get. I like the Kroger freebies- so easy to add to your coupon list. We like to get them and those we can’t use- we give to others or use as donations or in gifts. I wish all stores had such incentives. Most people prob. don’t take adv. of these offers. I do though, smile.
